Engine Front Cover: Installation

Clean all sealing surfaces and position a new front cover gasket.

Position the engine front cover.

Apply pipe sealant with Teflon® to the bolts to be installed in the locations shown.

Install the engine front cover bolts.

Install the crankshaft position sensor.

Install the oil pan. For additional information, refer to OIL PAN - 4X2 .
Install the crankshaft front oil seal. For additional information, refer to CRANKSHAFT FRONT OIL SEAL .
Connect the lower radiator hose to the water pump outlet.
Position back the A/C compressor and power steering bracket.

Install the stud bolts to the A/C compressor mounting bracket.

Position the wiring harness bracket, the fuel tube bracket, and install the nuts.

Install the coolant pump pulley and the bolts.

Install the fan and shroud assembly. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
Install the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to SPECIFICATIONS & DRIVE BELT ROUTING .
Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
