Ignition Switch

Test the mechanical operation of the ignition switch by rotating the lock cylinder through all the switch positions. The movement should not stick or bind and should return from the START position to the ON position without assistance (spring return). If sticking or binding is encountered, check the following:

If the steering wheel lock is engaged with the wheels loaded against the curb, high effort will be necessary to turn the key from the LOCK position. Turn the steering wheel to either side of the steering wheel lock to unload the system.
