Pinpoint Test B: The Luggage Compartment Lid Is Inoperative - From The Remote Switch And The Remote Transmitter: Overview

- B1 CHECK THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LID REMOTE SWITCH INPUT TO THE FEM
- Key in OFF position.
- Connect the diagnostic tool.
- Key in ON position.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Monitor the FEM luggage compartment lid remote switch PID.
- Press and release the luggage compartment lid remote switch.
- Does the FEM luggage compartment lid remote switch PID agree with the luggage compartment lid remote switch position?
- Yes : GO to B2.
- No : GO to B7.
- B2 CHECK THE REM OUTPUT USING ACTIVE COMMANDS
- Trigger the REM active command RELEASE ON.
- Does the luggage compartment lid release?
- Yes : GO to B7.
- No : GO to B3.
- B3 CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LID REMOTE SWITCH OUTPUT FROM THE REM
- Disconnect: Luggage Compartment Lid Actuator C430.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Trigger the REM luggage compartment lid release active command ON.
- Measure the voltage between the luggage compartment lid actuator C430-2, circuit 29S-AA83 (OG), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- Yes : GO to B4.
- No : GO to B5.
- B4 CHECK CIRCUIT 31-AA83 (BK/OG) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between the luggage compartment lid actuator C430-3, circuit 31-AA83 (BK/OG), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : INSTALL a new luggage compartment lid actuator. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- B5 CHECK CIRCUIT 29S-AA83 (OG) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: REM C420c.
- Measure the resistance between the REM C420c-10, circuit 29S-AA83 (OG), harness side and the luggage compartment lid actuator C430-2, circuit 29S-AA83 (OG), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : GO to B6.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- B6 CHECK CIRCUIT 29S-AA83 (OG) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND_
- Measure the resistance between the REM C420c-10, circuit 29S-AA83 (OG) harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
- Yes : GO to B7.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
- B7 CHECK FOR CORRECT REM OPERATION
- Disconnect all REM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all REM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new REM. REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - LS . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
