Remote Keyless Entry
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The door locks and luggage compartment lid can be operated by the remote transmitter. When a command is received from the remote transmitter, the DDM will send a command to the FEM or the REM to unlock a door or unlatch the luggage compartment lid.
The remote transmitter initiates the following electronic system functions:
- opens the trunk
- unlocks the driver door
- unlocks all doors
- locks all doors
- activates/deactivates the panic alarm
- commands the interior lamps on (when unlocking) and off (when locking)
- sounds the horn once when LOCK is pressed twice within three seconds, doors, hood and trunk are closed
- sounds the horn twice when the LOCK button is pressed twice within 3 seconds, and any door, hood or trunk is open
The remote transmitter has a minimum operating range of 10m (33 feet).
The remote transmitters can be programmed using a diagnostic tool or by using the ignition lock cylinder method.
