Door Window Glass - Front

NOTE: The front window motors must be initialized whenever: the motor is removed from the window regulator, a new motor is installed, a new window regulator is installed, a new window glass is installed, a glass top run removal and installation has been carried out or when carrying out any operation in which grease or lubricants are applied to the window system. A new front window motor will be in a proportional up/down mode until initialized. Refer to DOOR WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION .
  1. Remove the front door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM - LS .
  2. Remove the water shield.
  3. To remove individual components, only carry out the following steps.

  4. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.

  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 2: Door Window Glass Removal Note 

  1. Position the front window regulator-to-glass clamp bolts to align with the access holes.

  2. Loosen the bolts allowing the window glass to move from the clamp but do not remove the bolts.
  3. Hold the glass in place and lower the window regulator to the full down position remove the front door window glass.

Item 8: Door Inner Module Assembly Removal Note 

  1. If equipped, disconnect the remote keyless entry key pad connector.
  2. Disconnect the mirror electrical connector and release the locators from the inner door module assembly.
  3. Disconnect the door module electrical connector and main wiring harness electrical connector and release the locators from the inner door module assembly.
  4. Remove the lower theft shield screw.

  5. Remove the nut and the theft shield.

  6. For driver door only, disconnect the door lock cylinder actuating rod.

  7. For driver and passenger front door, release the clip and disconnect the exterior door handle actuator rod.
    • If equipped, disconnect the door lock cylinder switch electrical connector.

  8. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  9. Remove the door latch screws and position the door latch aside.

Item 2: Front Door Window Glass Installation Note 

  1. Position the front door window glass against the B-pillar.
  2. Make sure the front door window glass correctly seats in the glass mounting brackets as the front door window glass is raised.
  3. Support the front door window glass and raise the window regulator to the full upright position.
  4. Tighten the door regulator clamp bolts after the glass is fully seated in the clamp.

Item 8: Door Inner Module Assembly Installation Note 

  1. Make sure the alignment dowels are seated before installing the inner door module bolts
  2. Tighten the inner door module bolts next to the alignment dowels first.
