    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
    1. Yes  : GO to Q3.
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. Q3 CHECK THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH
    • Disconnect: Multifunction Switch C202.
    • Carry out the multifunction switch component test.

      Refer to COMPONENT TESTING .

    • Did the multifunction switch pass the component test?
    1. Yes  : GO to Q4.
    2. No  : INSTALL a new multifunction switch. REFER to STEERING SYSTEM for the removal and installation procedure.
  4. Q4 CHECK CIRCUIT 31-KA19 (BK/RD) FOR AN OPEN
    • Measure the resistance between the multifunction switch C202-2, circuit 31-KA19 (BK/RD), harness side and ground.

    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
    1. Yes  : GO to Q6.
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
  6. Q6 CHECK FOR CORRECT WIPER MOTOR OPERATION
    • Disconnect all wiper motor connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect all wiper motor connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present?
    1. Yes  : GO to Q7.
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. TEST the system for normal operation.
