Removal And Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to LIFTING .
- Remove the A/C condenser. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Remove the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. See Fig 1.
To remove individual parts, only carry out the listed steps:
PARTS REMOVAL STEPSPart Steps Transmission fluid cooler 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 Transmission fluid cooler hoses 3, 5 and 6 Transmission fluid cooler lines 1, 2, 3 and 4 - To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Carry out the transmission fluid level check. For additional information, refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL CHECK in this section.
Item 2: Transmission Fluid Cooler Line Bracket Nut Removal Note
- Remove the wire harness retainer from the steel fluid cooling tube support bracket.
- Remove the steel fluid cooling tube support bracket.
Item 3: Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose Clamps Removal Note
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose clamps.
Items 5 and 7: Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose Clamps Removal Note
- Remove and discard the transmission fluid cooler hose clamps.
Items 5 and 7: Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose Clamps Installation Note
- Using the special tool, install new transmission fluid cooler hose clamps.
Item 3: Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose Clamps Installation Note
- Install the transmission fluid cooler hose clamps.
Item 2: Transmission Fluid Cooler Line Bracket Nut Installation Note
- Install the steel fluid cooling tube support bracket.
- Install the wire harness retainer to the steel fluid cooling tube support bracket.
