- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING in this section.
- Remove the engine appearance cover.
- Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR, FUEL CHARGING, STARTING & ENGINE ELECTRONICS - 3.9L .

Component Steps Thermostat housing and thermostat 1-8 Thermostat 1-12 - Illustration 1 of 2. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table. See Fig 1.

- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
