Removal and Installation

Remove the engine appearance cover.

To remove individual components, carry out only the individual steps.

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) VALVE COMPONENT STEPS

Component	Steps
Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system module	1-4
Exhaust manifold tube-to-EGR system module	1-8

Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 2: Exhaust Manifold Tube Removal Note

Disconnect the EGR system module-to-exhaust manifold tube from the EGR system module.

Item 3: EGR System Module Bolt Removal Note

Remove the vacuum harness.

Item 6: Intake Manifold Removal Note

Remove the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD in this section.

Item 6: Intake Manifold Installation Note

Install the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD in this section.

Item 5: EGR System Module Gasket Installation Note

Install a new EGR system module gasket with the side with the raised circle facing the intake manifold.

Item 2: Exhaust Manifold Tube Installation Note

Connect the EGR system module-to-exhaust manifold tube to the EGR system module.

Item 3: EGR System Module Bolt Installation Note

Install the vacuum harness.
