Removal and Installation

1. Remove the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
2. Release the fuel system pressure. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM .
3. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 2: Fuel Hose Removal Note 

1. Remove the clip.

2. Install the special tool.

3. Close the special tool and push it into the open side of the cage.

4. Separate the fitting and remove the special tool.

Item 8: Lower Intake Manifold Gaskets Installation Note 

1. Clean and inspect the lower intake manifold gaskets. Install new gaskets if necessary.

Item 6: Lower Intake Manifold Bolts Installation Note 

1. Tighten the lower intake manifold bolts in the sequence shown.

Item 2: Fuel Hose Installation Note 

1. Connect the spring lock coupling.
   • Clean and inspect both coupling ends.
   • Lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil.
   • Connect the coupling.
   • Pull on the coupling to make sure it is fully engaged.
   • Install the clip.
