Removal and Installation

- Remove the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
- Release the fuel system pressure. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM .
- Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Item 2: Fuel Hose Removal Note
- Remove the clip.
- Install the special tool.
- Close the special tool and push it into the open side of the cage.
- Separate the fitting and remove the special tool.
Item 8: Lower Intake Manifold Gaskets Installation Note
- Clean and inspect the lower intake manifold gaskets. Install new gaskets if necessary.
Item 6: Lower Intake Manifold Bolts Installation Note
- Tighten the lower intake manifold bolts in the sequence shown.
Item 2: Fuel Hose Installation Note
- Connect the spring lock coupling.
- Clean and inspect both coupling ends.
- Lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil.
- Connect the coupling.
- Pull on the coupling to make sure it is fully engaged.
- Install the clip.
