Test Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.

  1. N1 - CHECK FOR DTCs

  2. N2 - CHECK THE ADVANCE TRAC®/IVD SWITCH

    • Disconnect: Advance Trac®/IVD Switch C3208.
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Press the Advance Trac®/IVD switch to the ON position.
    • Measure the resistance between the Advance Trac®/IVD switch C3208-2 and C3208-1.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
      1. Yes  : GO to N3.
      2. No  : INSTALL a new Advance Trac®/IVD switch. TEST the system for normal operation. GO to N3.
  3. N3 - CHECK CIRCUIT 8-CF54 (WH/VT) FOR AN OPEN

    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: ABS Module C135.
    • Measure the resistance between ABS module C135-38, circuit 8-CF54 (WH/VT), harness side and Advance Trac®/IVD switch connector C3208-2, circuit 8-CF54 (WH/VT).

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
      1. Yes  : INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE  in this section.
      2. No  : REPAIR circuit 8-CF54 (WH/VT). TEST the system for normal operation.
