Test Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.
- N1 - CHECK FOR DTCs
- Connect the diagnostic tool.
- Retrieve and document continuous DTCs.
- Are any DTCs retrieved?
- N2 - CHECK THE ADVANCE TRAC®/IVD SWITCH
- Disconnect: Advance Trac®/IVD Switch C3208.
- Key in OFF position.
- Press the Advance Trac®/IVD switch to the ON position.
- Measure the resistance between the Advance Trac®/IVD switch C3208-2 and C3208-1.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : GO to N3.
- No : INSTALL a new Advance Trac®/IVD switch. TEST the system for normal operation. GO to N3.
- N3 - CHECK CIRCUIT 8-CF54 (WH/VT) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: ABS Module C135.
- Measure the resistance between ABS module C135-38, circuit 8-CF54 (WH/VT), harness side and Advance Trac®/IVD switch connector C3208-2, circuit 8-CF54 (WH/VT).
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE in this section.
- No : REPAIR circuit 8-CF54 (WH/VT). TEST the system for normal operation.
