Test Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.

  1. B1 - CHECK CIRCUIT 7-CF65 (YE/VT) FOR AN OPEN

    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: ABS Module C135.
    • Measure the voltage between ABS module C135-26, circuit 7-CF65 (YE/VT), harness side, and ground.
    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts with the brake pedal applied, and zero volts with the brake pedal released?

      1. Yes  : INSTALL a new pedal travel switch (PTS) switch. CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the self-test.
      2. No  : GO to B3.
  3. B3 - CHECK CIRCUIT 8-CF65 (WH/VT) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

    • Measure the resistance between ABS module C135-40, circuit 8-CF65 (WH/VT), harness side, and ground.
