Disassembly and Assembly

Remove the disc brake caliper. For additional information, refer to FRONT DISC BRAKE .
Secure the disc brake caliper in a vise.

NOTE: Do not hone the piston bores. If the bores are excessively scored or corroded, install a new brake disc caliper.

Disassemble the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

Item 4: Piston Disassembly Note

CAUTION: Apply moderate air pressure in short bursts to prevent an uncontrolled release of the piston.

Place a piece of wood in the caliper. Remove the piston by applying moderate air pressure through the bleeder screw port.
