Disassembly and Assembly

- Remove the disc brake caliper. For additional information, refer to FRONT DISC BRAKE .
- Secure the disc brake caliper in a vise.
- Disassemble the parts in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.
- To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
NOTE:
Do not hone the piston bores. If the bores are excessively scored or corroded, install a new brake disc caliper.
Item 4: Piston Disassembly Note
CAUTION:
Apply moderate air pressure in short bursts to prevent an uncontrolled release of the piston.
- Place a piece of wood in the caliper. Remove the piston by applying moderate air pressure through the bleeder screw port.
