Removal & Installation (Control)

- Pull out on the bottom of the parking brake control boot to disengage it from the plastic retainer. If necessary, pull the control handle upward.
- Using a small screwdriver, carefully lift the retainer tab and slide the boot upward.
- Disconnect the parking brake warning indicator switch connector. See Fig 2 .
- Using a screwdriver, push down on the tension arm until it is fully depressed. See Fig 3 .
- Lock down the tension arm with a pin or screwdriver. See Fig 4 .
- Remove the cable anchor pin. See Fig 5 .
- Remove the control bolts and remove the parking brake control. See Fig 6 .
- To install, reverse removal procedures.
CAUTION:
The control boot is held in position by a small plastic retaining tab that engages a notch in the control handle. See Fig 1
. Failure to use care when removing the boot can result in damage to the tab and unnecessary replacement of the boot.
