Clutch Cycling Pressure Switch
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Clutch cycling pressure switch is mounted on a Schrader valve-type fitting on top of accumulator-drier. Electrical contacts inside clutch cycling pressure switch are normally open when pressure is 21-23 psi (1.5-1.6 kg/cm2 ). Contacts close and engage compressor clutch when low side pressure reaches 42 psi (2.95 kg/cm2 ). When working properly, clutch cycling switch maintains evaporator core temperature just above freezing. When replacing clutch cycling pressure switch it is not necessary to discharge A/C system.
