DTC C1137: Power Circuit (1998 Models)

NOTE: Diagnose all other DTCs set before proceeding with DTC C1137.
  1. Check for and disconnect any aftermarket accessories such as cellular telephone, CB transmitter, entertainment system, or alarm system. Check if problem still exists. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 24-pin ABS control module connector. Check ABS control module connector for damage corrosion or moisture. Repair as necessary. Using NGS tester, clear DTCs. Recheck system operation. If connector is okay, go to next step.
  2. Measure resistance between fuel tank heat shield and vehicle chassis across bonding strap. If resistance is less than one ohm, go to next step. If resistance is greater than one ohm, repair fuel tank heat shield bonding strap. Go to next step.
  3. Measure resistance between fuel lines and vehicle chassis at connectors near Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU). If resistance is less than one ohm, reconnect ABS control module connector and go to next step. If resistance is greater than one ohm, repair fuel line bonding strap. Reconnect all components. Using NGS tester, clear DTCs. Recheck system operation.
  4. Start engine and observe ABS warning light. If ABS warning light illuminates after 5-10 seconds, replace Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU). Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM . Using NGS tester, clear DTCs. Recheck system operation. If ABS warning light does not illuminate after 5-10 seconds, fault was repaired in previous step. System is okay. Using NGS tester, clear DTCs. Recheck system operation.
