WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford Ranger. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The instrument cluster and panel lighting system is powered through the headlamp switch and the panel dimmer switch. The instrument cluster illumination is controlled by the output of the panel dimmer switch. The instrument panel lighting circuit provides illumination for the:
- climate control panel.
- instrument cluster
- instrument ash receptacle
- radio chassis
- window regulator control switch
- power door lock switch
- passenger air bag ON/OFF switch
- speed control actuator switches
- headlamp switch
- fog lamp switch
Vehicles equipped with speed control built before 6/23/2000 are not equipped with illuminated speed control actuator switches. Illuminated speed control actuator switches should not be installed on these vehicles.
