Gearshift Linkage Adjustment

NOTE: If partial or incomplete engagement of the transfer case shift lever detent occurs, or should the transfer case control assembly require removal, refer to the following procedure:

Raise the shift boot to expose the top surface of the cam plate.
Loosen the bolts approximately one full turn.

Position the transfer case shift lever to the 4WD LOW position.
Rotate the cam plate clockwise until the bottom of the chamfered corner of the neutral lug contacts the shift lever.
Hold the cam plate in position and tighten the bolts.

NOTE: There should be clearance between the shift lever and cam plate in the 2WD front, 4WD HIGH rear, and 4WD LOW shift positions.

Move the transfer case shift lever to all shift positions to check for positive engagement.
Lower the shift boot assembly onto the cam plate.
