Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Cooler: Installation

ALL VEHICLES
- Install the auxiliary transmission fluid cooler.
- Connect the fluid cooler hoses to the auxiliary transmission fluid cooler. Install the hose clamps.
VEHICLES WITH 4R100 TRANSMISSION
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
ALL VEHICLES
- Install the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement.
VEHICLES WITH 4R100 TRANSMISSION
- Fill the transmission with the specified type and quantity of clean transmission fluid. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - 4R100 - E225-E550

VEHICLES WITH 4R70W/4R75W TRANSMISSION
- Fill the transmission with the specified type and quantity of clean transmission fluid. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - 4R70W - E150 & E250

- Use MERCON® V Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-5-QM or equivalent meeting MERCON® V specification.
ALL VEHICLES
- Use MERCON® V Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-5-QM or equivalent meeting MERCON® V specification.
- Check for leaks.
CAUTION:
Do not use any fluid approved for MERCON® V application. Using a fluid rated for MERCON® V may cause internal damage in MERCON® only applications.
