Extension Housing Seal And Gasket: Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. NOTE: The output shaft and driveshaft are a balanced assembly.

  3. Mark the driveshaft flange and the rear pinion flange for correct alignment during assembly.
  4. Remove the four bolts.

  5. Remove the driveshaft.

  6. Disconnect the catalyst monitoring sensor harness connectors. Remove the harness bracket.

  7. Remove the transmission insulator and retainer. For additional information, refer to TRANSMISSION INSULATOR AND RETAINER .
  8. Use the special tools, remove the extension housing seal.

  9. Remove the extension housing and gasket.
    1. Remove the bolts and nuts.
    2. Remove the extension housing and gasket.
