Removal and Installation

Remove the fan and fan clutch. For additional information, refer to RADIATOR .
Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to
Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the water pump outlet tube.

Remove the thermostat and housing.
1. Remove the three water outlet bolts.
2. Remove the thermostat housing.
3. Remove the thermostat and O-ring.

NOTE: The water pump pulley is removed for clarity.

Disconnect the heater hose from the water pump (8501).
Remove the bolts and the outlet tube from the water pump.

Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.
Remove the bolts and the pulley from the water pump.

Remove the bolts and the water pump from the engine (6007). Clean the gasket surfaces.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
