Removal and Installation

All Vehicles

Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
Raise and support the vehicle.
Remove the lower splash shields.

Vehicles with 2.0L Zetec engines
Disconnect the lower radiator hose and the Gades return hose.

Vehicles with 3.0L (4V) engines
Disconnect the lower radiator hose, the high pressure transmission line and the Gades return hose.

All vehicles
Remove the lower center support bolt.

Lower the vehicle.
Vehicles with 2.0L Zetec engines
Disconnect the remaining coolant hose connections.

Vehicles with 3.0L (4V) engines
Disconnect the transmission return line.

Disconnect the upper radiator hose and Gades supply hose.

All vehicles
Position the hood latch assemble out of the way. .

Remove the two bolts and the center support.

Remove the two top bolts retaining the cooling fan to the radiator.

Remove the upper radiator support brackets, and remove the radiator from the vehicle.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
