Cylinder Head: Disassembly

- Remove the camshaft sensor.
- Remove the ignition coil bracket.
- Remove the intake manifold.
- Remove the exhaust manifold.
- Remove the timing belt tensioner and pulley.
- Remove the inner timing belt cover.
- Remove the bracket.
- Remove the rear lifting eye.
- Remove the front lifting eye.
- Remove the cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor.
- Using the special tools, compress the valve spring and remove the valve spring retainer keys, the valve spring retainers, and the valve springs.
- Remove the special tools.
- Inspect the valve spring, valve spring retainer and valve spring retainer key. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION . Install new parts as necessary.
- Remove the valves.
- Using the special tools, remove and discard the valve stem seals.
- Inspect the valves. For additional information refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION . Install new parts as necessary.
NOTE:
Mark each valve if the original valves are to be used.
