Crankshaft Pulley: Installation

- Apply silicone gasket and sealant to the end of the keyway slot.
- Using the special tool, install the crankshaft pulley.
- Install the bolt and the washer and tighten in four stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 120 Nm (89 lb-ft).
- Stage 2: Loosen 360 degrees.
- Stage 3: Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
- Stage 4: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
- Install RH front inner splash shield.
- Install the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to SPECIFICATIONS & DRIVE BELT ROUTING .
NOTE:
Clean the keyway and slot using metal surface cleaner before applying silicone gasket and sealer.
NOTE:
The crankshaft pulley must be installed and the bolt tightened within four minutes of applying the silicone gasket and sealer.
NOTE:
Lubricate the outside diameter sealing surface of the crankshaft pulley with clean engine oil.
NOTE:
Use an appropriate strap wrench to hold the crankshaft pulley.
