Engagement Concern: No Forward And No Reverse

ENGAGEMENT CONCERN: NO FORWARD AND NO REVERSE SPECIFICATION

Possible Component Reference/Action
205 - ELECTRICAL ROUTINE 
No Electrical Concerns 
305 - HYDRAULIC/MECHANICAL ROUTINE 
Fluid 
  • Improper level-low
  • Adjust fluid to proper level.
Halfshaft 
  • Splines-worn, damaged
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
Shift linkage (internal/external) 
  • Damaged, out of adjustment, incorrectly assembled
  • Inspect. Repair as required. Verify linkage adjustment; refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION EXTERNAL CONTROLS .
Improper Pressures 
 
  • Perform Line Pressure and Stall Tests.
  • Check line pressure; refer to the LINE PRESSURE CHART  table. If pressures are low, check the following possible components: main control valve body, pump assembly, reverse clutch assembly, forward clutch assembly.
  • Low line pressure
Main Control Valve Body 
  • Bolts out of torque specification
  • Tighten bolts to specification.
  • Gaskets and separator plate-damaged, off location
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
  • Pump Shaft-broken
  • Inspect. Install new components as necessary.
  • Forward clutch control valve, manual valve, springs-stuck, damaged
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
  • Main regulator valve (only if line pressure is out of specification)-damaged
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
  • Components-damaged
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
Pump Assembly 
  • Bolts out of torque specification
  • Tighten bolts to specification.
  • Gaskets-damaged, off location
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
  • Porosity/cross leaks-leaking, plugged hole
  • Install new components as necessary.
  • Components damaged
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
Forward Clutch Assembly 
  • Seals, piston and seal assembly
  • Perform Air Pressure Tests; refer to Air Pressure Test under DIAGNOSTICS  .
  • Dish Plate-missing
  • Inspect for spring. Install new components as necessary.
  • Piston-cracked
  • Inspect piston. Install new components as necessary.
  • Friction elements-worn, damaged
  • Check for abnormal wear, damage. Install new components as necessary.
Low One-Way Clutch Assembly 
  • Worn, damaged, incorrectly assembled
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
Output Shaft 
  • Splines damaged
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
Other Possible Components 
  • Input shaft
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
  • Flywheel
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
  • Sprockets
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
  • Front or rear planetary
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
  • Rear sun drum and race assembly
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
  • Final drive assembly
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
  • Pump shaft assembly
  • Inspect for damage. Install new components as necessary.
