Removal & Installation (4.2L - Intake Manifold Spacer)

Remove upper intake manifold. See REMOVAL (4.2L - UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD) . See Fig 1. Partially drain cooling system. Disconnect throttle position sensor. Disconnect brake booster hose, vapor management hose and PCV valve hose. Disconnect heater hoses and hose bracket. Remove vacuum connector. Disconnect EGR harness connector and hose. Remove bolts and spacer. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See Fig 2. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Bleed cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING under COOLING SYSTEMS.
