Brake Booster - Vacuum: Removal

Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
Depress the brake pedal to release vacuum from the power brake booster.
Remove the coolant reservoir bolts and position reservoir aside.

NOTE: Discard the master cylinder retaining nuts. They are torque prevailing and cannot be reused.

Remove the brake master cylinder. For additional information, refer to MASTER CYLINDER .
Disconnect the power brake booster check valve.

Remove the stoplight switch self-locking pin.

Slide the stoplight switch and booster push rod and bushing off the brake pedal pin.

Remove the brake booster nuts.

Remove the power brake booster.
