Brake Booster - Vacuum: Removal

- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Depress the brake pedal to release vacuum from the power brake booster.
- Remove the coolant reservoir bolts and position reservoir aside.
- Remove the brake master cylinder. For additional information, refer to MASTER CYLINDER .
- Disconnect the power brake booster check valve.
- Remove the stoplight switch self-locking pin.
- Slide the stoplight switch and booster push rod and bushing off the brake pedal pin.
- Remove the brake booster nuts.
- Remove the power brake booster.
NOTE:
Discard the master cylinder retaining nuts. They are torque prevailing and cannot be reused.
