Removal And Installation: Shoes: Removal

  1. Remove the wheel hub assembly. For additional information, refer to WHEEL HUBS AND BEARINGS - FULL FLOATING AXLE .
  2. Remove the brake shoe retracting spring.

  3. Remove the brake shoe hold-down springs.

  4. Remove the parking brake shoes.
    1. Pull the primary shoe forward and out.
    2. Pull the secondary shoe rearward and remove the parking brake shoes and set on bench.

  5. Remove the brake shoe inner retracting spring.

  6. Remove the brake adjuster screw.

  7. Remove the brake shoe adjusting screw spring.
