Suction Accumulator/Drier - Standard A/C: Removal

- Recover the refrigerant. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Remove the battery (10655). For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Remove the battery tray.
- Remove the screws.
- Remove the battery tray.
- Disconnect the evaporator discharge line.
- Disconnect the compressor suction line.
- Remove the screw.
- Disconnect the compressor suction line.
- Disconnect the A/C cycling switch electrical connector.
- Remove the suction accumulator/drier (19C836).
- Remove the screws.
- Remove the suction accumulator/drier.
- Remove the A/C cycling switch (19E561).
NOTE:
Installation of a new suction accumulator/drier is not required when repairing the air conditioning system except when there is physical evidence of system contamination from failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator/drier.
CAUTION:
Use a wrench on each side of the fitting to prevent damage to the A/C fitting.
