Removal and Installation

- Remove the extended range fuel tank. For additional information, refer to TANK - EXTENDED RANGE .
- Remove the 14 bolts and the vapor retaining cover.
- Remove the vent and fuel lines.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Loosen the fitting and remove the fuel line.
- Loosen the fitting and remove the vent tube.
- To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
- Perform the fuel system leak test procedure. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION-NATURAL GAS .
NOTE:
Replace the fuel line O-ring seal.
NOTE:
Lubricate the O-rings with Super Premium 5W-30 engine oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G or equivalent prior to installation to help seal and ease installation.
NOTE:
When tightening the fuel line, a torque wrench adapter must be used with the torque wrench. The use of a torque wrench adapter will alter the effective torque of the torque wrench being used. To correct the effective torque, a torque multiplication conversion must be used. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION-NATURAL GAS
