Extension Housing Seal and Gasket: Installation

  1. Install the extension housing and gasket.
    1. Position the extension housing gasket and the extension housing.
    2. Install the bolts and nuts.

  2. Using the special tool, install the new extension housing seal.

  3. Install the transmission insulator and retainer. For additional information, refer to TRANSMISSION INSULATOR AND RETAINER .
  4. Install the harness bracket. Reconnect the catalyst monitoring sensor harness connectors.

  5. NOTE: The output shaft and the driveshaft are a balanced assembly.
  6. Install the driveshaft.
    • Align the index marks and position the driveshaft on the transmission.
    • Position the driveshaft to the rear differential.

  7. NOTE: To maintain driveshaft balance, install the driveshaft yoke and flange in the original position that was marked during removal.
  8. Install the driveshaft.
    1. Install the driveshaft.
    2. Install the bolts.

  9. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
