Removal and Installation

ALL VEHICLES

Disconnect both battery ground cables. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
Remove the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
E-550 ONLY
Disconnect the vacuum hoses. Position the hoses out of the way.

ALL VEHICLES
Remove the oil fill tube.

Remove the inlet duct, tube and bracket assembly.
Disconnect the fuel injector/glow plug nine pin connector.
1. Disconnect the retaining clip.
2. Disconnect the nine pin connector.

Remove the valve cover.
1. Remove the 10 bolts.
2. Remove the valve cover.

Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors and the glow plugs.
1. Disconnect the four electrical leads from the glow plugs.
2. Disconnect the four electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.

Remove the valve cover gasket.
To install, reverse removal procedure.
