Valve Cover - Right: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cables. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Remove the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly and air inlet tube.
  4. Remove the resonator bracket and the resonator assembly.
  5. Remove the oil level indicator tube.
    1. Remove the nut.
    2. Pull upward and remove the tube.

  6. Disconnect the fuel injector/glow plug jumper nine pin electrical connector.
    1. Disconnect the retaining clip.
    2. Disconnect the nine pin connector.

  7. Remove the valve cover.
    1. Remove the nut and the resonator bracket.
    2. Remove the 10 bolts.
    3. Remove the valve cover.

  8. Remove the valve cover gasket.
    1. Disconnect the four electrical leads from the glow plugs.
    2. Disconnect the four electrical connectors from the fuel injectors, and remove the gasket.
