Removal & Installation

WARNING: Clean all the fuel residue from the engine compartment. Failure to do so can cause personal injury or damage to the vehicle.
NOTE: Fuel heater is located inside fuel filter/water separator housing, just below fuel filter/water separator filter.
  1. Remove the fuel filter/water separator assembly. Remove the fuel filter cap and element. See FUEL FILTER/WATER SEPARATOR .
  2. Remove the fuel filter heater thermostat screws. See Fig 1. Pull the thermostat out of the fuel filter/water separator housing.
  3. Disconnect the fuel heater element electrical connector. Remove the screws and the fuel heater. See Fig 2.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Install the fuel filter/water separator assembly. See FUEL FILTER/WATER SEPARATOR .
