Valve Cover LH: Removal

  1. Remove the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the engine air cleaner assembly and the air cleaner outlet tube.
  3. Disconnect the crankcase vent tube from the valve cover.

  4. Remove the nut attaching the oil level indicator tube to the front of the engine.

  5. Remove the bolt attaching the oil level indicator tube to the rear of the engine.

  6. Position the oil level indicator tube aside.

  7. Disconnect the five LH ignition coil electrical connectors.

  8. Remove the throttle cable clamp bolt.

  9. Remove the bolts from the front and rear wiring harness brackets and position the wiring harness aside.

  10. NOTE: If the vehicle is equipped with rear auxiliary heat, the valve cover can be removed from the front of the vehicle.
    NOTE: The bolts are part of the valve cover and are not to be removed.

  11. Loosen the 14 bolts and remove the valve cover and gasket.
