Exhaust Manifold LH: Removal

    ALL ENGINES 

  1. Remove the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .

    2. ROMEO ENGINE (4.6L) 

  2. Remove the differential pressure feedback exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Remove the system and hoses from the exhaust manifold to EGR valve tube.

  3. Remove the exhaust manifold to EGR valve tube.
    • Disconnect the upper and lower fittings.
    • Remove the tube.

    4. WINDSOR ENGINE (5.4L) 

  4. Disconnect the upper connections of the exhaust manifold to EGR valve tube.
    • Disconnect the hoses to the differential pressure feedback EGR system.
    • Disconnect the upper fitting at the EGR valve.

    5. ALL ENGINES 

  5. Raise and support the vehicle.
  6. Remove the front fender splash shield (16103). For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .

    7. WINDSOR ENGINE (5.4L) 

  7. Disconnect the exhaust manifold to EGR valve tube fitting at the exhaust manifold and remove the tube.

    8. ALL ENGINES 

  8. Remove the nuts.

  9. Remove the nuts and the exhaust manifold.

  10. Remove and discard the exhaust manifold gasket (9448).

  11. Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
