Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the wheel and tire assembly. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES .
  2. Loosen the nut.

  3. Remove and discard the cotter pin and nut.

  4. Using the special tool, detach the drag link from the tie rod end.

  5. Remove and discard the cotter pin and nut.

  6. Using a suitable separating tool, detach the tie rod end from the wheel knuckle.

  7. NOTE: Count the number of turns that are necessary to remove the tie-rod for reference during installation.

  8. Remove the tie rod end.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  10. Check and, if necessary, adjust the front toe to specification. For additional information, refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article. Ensure steering wheel is centered.
