Transfer Case Rear Output Shaft Flange: Removal

    CAUTION: Mark the driveshaft relative to the companion flange.
  1. Remove the driveshaft. Refer to DRIVESHAFT .
    2. CAUTION: Rotational torque of the companion flange must be measured and recorded for correct pinion bearing preload when reassembled.

  2. Using the special tool, remove the pinion nut.
    3. CAUTION: Mark the companion flange relative to the pinion spline.

  3. Using the special tool, remove the companion flange.
