Transmission Cooling

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford Ranger. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

All vehicles with automatic transmissions are equipped with a transmission fluid cooler integral to the radiator (8005) and cannot be repaired separately. The integral transmission fluid cooler transfers heat from the transmission fluid to the engine coolant. The auxiliary transmission fluid cooler transfers heat from the transmission fluid to outside air.
