Low/Reverse Servo Assembly: Removal

    NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms can occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The customer needs to be notified that they may experience slightly different upshifts either soft or firm and this is a temporary condition and will eventually return to normal operating condition.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the transmission pan. For additional information, refer to FLUID PAN, GASKET & FILTER .
  4. Remove the transmission fluid filter.
    1. Remove the transmission fluid filter screw.
    2. Remove the transmission fluid filter.

  5. Remove the low/reverse band servo cover.
    1. Remove the low/reverse band servo cover screws.
    2. Remove the low/reverse band servo cover and gasket. Discard the low/reverse servo separator plate cover gasket.

  6. Remove the low/reverse band servo piston and rod assembly.
