Rear Brake Caliper & Pads: Installation

  1. Using Rear Caliper Piston Adjuster (T87P-2588-A), rotate caliper piston until it is fully seated. Install brake pads on caliper anchor plate. Install caliper bolt and cover. Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install guide pin and cotter pin. Install parking brake cable on caliper operating lever, and adjust parking brake by operating parking brake several times. Refill and bleed system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .


To install, reverse removal procedure. Apply high-temperature grease between shims and brake pads. Using an Allen wrench, turn adjustment gear clockwise until brake pads touch brake disc, then loosen 1/3 turn. Fill and bleed brake system (if necessary). See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
