DTC P007D: Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Circuit High (Bank 1)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 32 other vehicles, including the 2011 Mercury Milan, 2011 Mercury Mariner, 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis, 2011 Lincoln Town Car, and 2011 Lincoln Navigator L. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
P007D - CHARGE AIR COOLER TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH (BANK 1)

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) continuously monitors the CACT circuit for concerns. The test fails when the temperature is lower than the calibrated value for the sensor or an open or short to voltage is detected in the circuit.
Possible Causes:
  • Damaged turbocharger boost pressure (TCBP) sensor/charge air cooler temperature (CACT) sensor
  • CACT circuit open or short to voltage
  • SIGRTN circuit open
  • Output from the charge air cooler (CAC) is colder than the calibrated threshold
Diagnostic Aids:  Check the harness for intermittent concerns, incorrect connections, routing, alterations and damage due to contact with other components.
The TCBP/CACT sensor is a dual function pressure and temperature sensor located on the intake air tube between the charge air cooler (CAC) and the throttle body.
