Removal & Installation

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
- Remove screws and right cargo net attachments. See Fig 1 . Remove weatherstrip and interior lamp bezel. Separate right quarter trim panel enough to access D-pillar trim panel. Remove right rear seat belt guide cover, bolt and seat belt guide. Remove right D-pillar trim panel. Remove screw and right coat hook. Remove screws and left cargo net attachments.
- Separate left quarter trim panel enough to access D-pillar trim panel. Remove left rear seat belt guide cover, bolt and seat belt guide. Remove left D-pillar trim panel. Remove screw and left coat hook. Remove 2 pin-type headliner retainers. See Fig 2 . On models equipped with third row seating, pull down on rear seat belt retractor cover to release retainers and remove cover. On all models, separate headliner at rear hatch area. Remove side curtain air bag bridge resistor.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. DO NOT activate air bag system at this time. Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all deployable air bag system devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
