Seat Belt Buckle PRETENSIONER/Switch Assembly: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. DO NOT active air bag system at this time. Tighten seat belt buckle pretensioner/switch assembly mounting bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. If working on right front seat, connect negative battery cable. Zero Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS). See ZERO OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR (OCS)  under DIAGNOSTICS. Disconnect negative battery cable and wait at least one minute. If working on either front seat, remove simulator from seat belt buckle pretensioner/switch electrical connector and reconnect connector.
  3. With air bag simulators installed at all remaining deployable air bag system devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
