Passenger-Side Air Bag Module: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  2. Remove air bag simulator from passenger side air bag electrical connector. Disengage air bag harness retainers. Remove air bag module bracket bolts and brackets. See Figure . Remove remaining air bag module mounting bolts. Rotate top of air bag module rearward, releasing retaining tabs. Continue rotating air bag module and remove through glove box opening. See Figure .
