Test W: Belt Tension Sensor Fault (DTC B2909): Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Mercury Monterey and 2004 Ford Freestar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The seat belt tension sensor operates in conjunction with the Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) system. The OCS system checks the seat belt tension sensor for faults. If the OCS detects a fault on any seat belt tension sensor circuit, it will report the failure to the Restraints Control Module (RCM). The RCM will store DTC B2909 in memory. AIR BAG warning light will also flash Light Flash Code (LFC). Refer to table for corresponding LFC and associated fault. See BELT TENSION SENSOR LIGHT FLASH CODES (LFCS)  table.

BELT TENSION SENSOR LIGHT FLASH CODES (LFCS)
