Test D: Pad Warning Light Failure (DTC B1884): Description

When ignition switch is in the ON position, Passenger-side Deactivation (PAD) indicator prove-out is initiated by Restraints Control Module (RCM). RCM briefly activates PAD indicator to verify to the occupants correct functional operation of the PAD indicator. If RCM detects an open or short to ground in PAD switch warning light circuit, it will store Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1884 in memory and flash Code 1-8 on AIR BAG warning light.
