Removal & Installation (60 Percent Front Seat)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  2. Position front seat in forward position. Pull up and slide seat belt buckle cover. Using Seat Belt Bolt Bit (510-010), remove seat belt buckle bolt. Remove seat track rear anchor bolts. Position front seat to rearward position. Remove seat track front anchor bolts. Guide center seat belt buckle through locating strap on side of seat. Disconnect seat belt pretensioner electrical connector. Remove front seat.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all remaining deployable devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Connect negative battery cable. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
