Passenger-Side Air Bag Module: Installation

  1. Remove or reposition anything blocking access to passenger-side air bag alignment rails. See Fig 2 . Inspect passenger-side air bag module alignment locators and bolt retainers for damage, and repair if necessary.
  2. Position passenger-side air bag module alignment locators to alignment rails in instrument panel. Position passenger-side air bag module deployment door tabs. When all tabs and locators are aligned, slide and engage passenger side air bag module into instrument panel.
  3. Install passenger-side air bag module bolts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Remove air bag simulator from passenger-side air bag harness connector and reconnect connectors.
  4. Reconnect battery(s). With air bag simulators installed on all remaining deployable devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Disconnect battery(s). Wait at least one minute. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
