Zero Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS)

NOTE:
Prior to zeroing OCS, ensure vehicle has not been exposed to temperatures below 42°F (6°C) or above 97°F 36°C), within 4 hours of performing zeroing operation.
Ensure all OCS components are connected and no faults are present when performing zeroing procedure.
Ensure a minimum of 5 seconds has elapsed after cycling ignition switch to ON position before performing zeroing procedure.
It is necessary to rezero OCS system when the right front seat is disassembled, a new trim cover is installed, or an OCS service kit is installed. A scan tool in used to trigger the active command to carry out rezeroing of the OCS system.

- Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester
Ensure front passenger seat is empty. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See USING SCAN TOOL . On scan tool, select SERVICE BAY FUNCTIONS, RCM and SYSTEM RESET. Select appropriate vehicle from scan tool menu. View on-screen information, then push TRIGGER. Scan tool screen will then display OCS RESET: REZERO. Press DONE (button 8) to rezero OCS system. Scan tool will return to vehicle menu once rezeroing of OCS system is complete. If first attempt to rezero OCS system is unsuccessful, repeat rezeroing procedure. Perform system operation check. - Using World Diagnostic System (WDS) tester
Ensure front passenger seat is empty. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See USING SCAN TOOL . On scan tool, select Toolbox icon. Select BODY, RESTRAINTS, and SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR REZERO. After selecting SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR REZERO, follow on-screen prompts to carry out rezeroing of the OCS system. If first attempt to rezero OCS system is unsuccessful, repeat rezeroing procedure.
